Mohammed Marmaduke Pickthall, "The Meaning of the Glorious Koran, an explanatory translation", a Mentor book from The New American Library, Inc., 1301 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10019.
This translation has been out there for nearly a hundred years. It was a great pioneering effort from brother Pickthall, may God have mercy on is soul. Pickthall's translation is brief and the book is pocket size! The only drawback is that brother Pickthall used the old English pronouns, such as thou and thy. These pronouns were the standard practice for scriptures translated into English at his time, so I can see why he went along with it.
Pickthall's translation is highly literary. You will think Shakespeare did the translation! I like that aspect a lot.
